Petals fall from the roses on the runner that tops the fence, green and cream creating an enormous bouquet for the morning sun. The earth below is littered with the evidence of faded flowers, looking like a snowfall.
A single petal spins in the breeze hanging on one more moment before surrendering to the pull of gravity, then floating like a feather to the ground below. It adds its gift to the cycle of life. Can you see it?
Scripture says we are like that. Fleeting. Brilliantly beautiful one moment, faded and gone the next. Yet God sent His son to rescue us from death. How can we doubt Him?
Because of Him, we are “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.” Psalm 1:3
Celebrate the gift of salvation and remember whose you are, today.
